US President Donald Trump has suggested that he plans to visit Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East soon.
The trip could be the first foreign visit of Trump's second term.
On Monday, the president was asked about a report that had been published by US news site Axios the previous day. The media outlet said he is planning to travel to Saudi Arabia in mid-May.
Trump said he has a very good relationship with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and others in the Middle East.
He said the visit "could be next month, or maybe a little bit later."
Trump made Saudi Arabia the first stop on his initial foreign trip during his previous term.
He apparently wants to strengthen economic ties with the kingdom. He also reportedly wants Saudi Arabia to help bring about an early ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump has expressed a willingness to hold a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saudi Arabia.
He said on Monday that he may also visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
The president is likely to use the Middle East tour to discuss the stalled ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas.
