Vladimir Putin suggests Ukraine be temporality governed by the UN

Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested Ukraine be placed under a temporary administration run by the UN to allow for new elections.

It's the latest attempt by President Putin to challenge the legitimacy of the current Ukrainian Government.

The UN has rejected the comments made by the Russian Leader.

The White House also quickly dismissed the idea, claiming governance in Ukraine is "determined by its constitution."

Kyiv accused Putin of proposing "crazy" ideas to delay further development toward a ceasefire.
