      616. LET’S SEND IT OVER TO RAVEN AND RAVEN. I KNOW THIS WEEK WILL BE NICE, BUT WE’RE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND. YEAH, IT’S VERY BUSY WEEKEND, ESPECIALLY FOR THE NORTH SHORE. RIGHT NEAR THAT LOUISIANA MISSISSIPPI STATE LINE. EAST FORK DEALING WITH THE DAMAGE OF THAT KENTWOOD AREA. LOOKING AT AN EF1 BUT EVENTUALLY F3 DURBAN AND THEN ALSO TYLERTOWN DEALING WITH SOME DAMAGE AS WELL. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STILL HAS A LOT OF AREAS TO ASSESS, AS WE DO GET TO LATER FOR TODAY. BUT SPEAKING OF LATER FOR TODAY, WE WILL SEE LOTS OF SUNSHINE. YOU’RE ALREADY STARTING TO SEE FIRST INKLINGS OF THAT. THIS IS THE PONTCHARTRAIN CONSERVANCY CAMERA. LOOK AT THE BACKGROUND RIGHT THERE. NOT A WHOLE LOT OF CLOUD COVERAGE AT ALL, BUT YOU CAN SEE WAVES CRASHING UP AGAINST THE SIDE. LITTLE BREEZY OUT TOWARDS THAT WAY. ELSEWHERE, THOUGH, NOT REALLY THAT WINDY, BUT TEN MILES PER HOUR OFF OF OUT AT LAKEFRONT FOR YOU RIGHT NOW. SO BIGGEST DIFFERENCE FOR YOU THIS MORNING. GOING TO BE HOW IT FEELS IF YOU GOT UP YESTERDAY ABOUT THIS TIME, MAYBE YOU’RE GETTING READY FOR CHURCH. MAYBE YOU WERE GETTING READY FOR THE DAY. YOU WERE LOOKING AT ABOUT 15 TO 20 DEGREES WARMER THIS TIME YESTERDAY THAN WHERE WE’RE SITTING AT RIGHT NOW. SO YOU NEED A JACKET AS YOU HEAD OUTSIDE, ESPECIALLY ON THE NORTH SHORE, A LOT COOLER. LOOK AT BELLE CHASSE NOW 39 DEGREES FOR YOU AS YOU WAKE UP. BUT 59 OVER AT LAKEFRONT, OBVIOUSLY YOU GOT SOME AIR BLOWING OVER YOU THAT WARMER WATER. SO THAT IS HELPING TO KEEP YOUR TEMPERATURES A LITTLE WARMER THAN EVERYBODY ELSE. SO JUST NO COLD START FOR THE DAY FOR THE AFTERNOON. NOT AS BAD. PRETTY SIMILAR TO YESTERDAY. OTHER DIFFERENCE THOUGH, NOT GOING TO BE NEARLY AS BREEZY. SO WE’RE JUST TALKING ABOUT ABOUT FIVE MILES PER HOUR FOR YOUR WIND SPEEDS. 70S FOR THE AFTERNOON. SO SHOULD FEEL PRETTY PLEASANT. THIS IS WHERE WE SHOULD BE FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. ALL RIGHT. SO LET’S TALK ABOUT THE SAINT PATRICK’S DAY BLOCK PARTY. SO WE’LL START AT 10 A.M. FORECAST FOR YOU THROUGHOUT THE DAY. 60S BY NOON. WE’LL CONTINUE ON. YOU’LL LIKELY START TO SEE SOME 70S WITHIN THERE, TOO, BY ABOUT 5:00 OR SO, A LITTLE BIT FOR THE AFTERNOON. THEN ONCE THE PARADE STARTS, SHOULD HAVE GOOD WEATHER AS WELL. LOOKING AT THE 60S ON AFTER THAT. SO NOT EXPECTING TO SEE ANY CLOUD COVERAGE. NOT ONLY THAT THOUGH, NOT GOING TO SEE ANY RAIN AS WE GET INTO OUR TUESDAY EITHER. SO HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING TONIGHT. TOMORROW MORNING, STILL ON THE COOLER SIDE, 40S 50S FOR YOU. SO THAT PART IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE. BUT ALSO LOOK AT THIS. DEW POINTS WILL START TO GO UP. NOT GOING TO BE TERRIBLE FOR US OVER THE WEEKEND. THAT DIDN’T FEEL TOO GREAT. NOT GOING TO FEEL AS BAD, BUT JUST KNOW IT’S GOING TO TICK UP A LITTLE BIT AND THEN TICK UP AGAIN. AS WE DO GET INTO THE WEEKEND. SPEAKING OF THE WEEKEND, BEFORE WE GET THERE, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE RAIN CHANCES FOR WEDNESDAY. SO SOME RAIN CHANCES WILL START TO POP UP. THIS IS A LOWER CHANCE, BUT EITHER WAY IT GOES, THERE’S A CHANCE OF THAT MOVING IN. SO WE’RE PUTTING IN ABOUT 2,030% CHANCE FOR FOLKS TO SEE SOME RAIN. AND THEN WE DO GET A FRONT THAT PUSHES THROUGH. IT’S ON THE WEAKER SIDE. SO WE’RE NOT TALKING ABOUT STORMS ROLLING IN. THERE COULD BE A COUPLE RUMBLES OF THUNDER. AS OF RIGHT NOW. BUT I THINK THUNDERSTORMS THOUGH THOSE ARE LIKELY GOING TO BE JUST UP TO OUR NORTH. SO WE’RE GOING TO SEE A LOT BETTER WEATHER UP AHEAD. RAINFALL. SPEAKING OF, HAVEN’T SEEN A WHOLE LOT FOR THE MONTH, BUT HERE’S WHAT’S GOING ON FOR YOU. HAD QUITE A BIT OVER THE WEEKEND. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE REST OF THE WDSU FIRST WARNING SEVEN DAY FORECAST MID 70S FOR YOUR TUESDAY. BY WEDNESDAY WE’RE INTO THE 80S AND THEN WE’RE DROPPING AFTER THAT FRONT

Lucky St. Patrick's Day forecast; warming trend this week

      Warm & Sunny Monday

We've got a bit of luck this work week. Expect sunshine with highs in the low 70s! Heading to any of today's block parties or the parade? We start off in the 50s early on, then eventually the 60s and 70s for the afternoon, then back to the 60s and 50s for the evening. Lows tonight will fall to the low 40s on the Northshore and the low 50s on the Southshore. Get ready for a slightly warmer day Tuesday. Highs rise to the mid 70s with mostly sunny skies. Highs by Wednesday warm to the upper 70s to low 80s! We'll also have more cloud coverage with a chance to see a few showers. A couple of rumbles of thunder may be possible. It's a weaker front that passes through on Wednesday. It will, however, drop our high temperatures Thursday and Friday into the upper 60s, just a tad bit below average. Our next best chance for rain returns this weekend along with temperatures warming back into the upper 70s.
