On December 24, the head of Russia’s consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that the documents for registration of the Russia-developed vaccine had been registered and the clinical trials were in their final stages.

On December 23, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that the vaccine had been successfully tested on people.

An Ebola outbreak began in December 2013, spreading across Western Africa from Guinea to Liberia and Sierra Leone killing over 11,000 people in these three countries.
